Rosie, the beloved tortoiseshell cat from Norwich, UK, has died at the age of 33. Born in 1991, Rosie was celebrated as the world's oldest cat until recently, with the title now held by Flossie, a 28-year-old feline from Kent. Rosie’s age equates to 152 in human years.
Her owner, Lila Brisset, fondly remembered Rosie, saying, "I miss her so much. She peacefully passed away in the hallway of our home. We shared many wonderful memories, and I'm grateful for our time together."
Rosie had retired from her outdoor adventures in her later years and spent her time lounging by the window. Initially intended for another family, Rosie found her forever home with Lila, who had previously rescued other animals.
Lila noted, “Rosie had a simple routine—eating, sleeping, and using the litter tray. I often checked to make sure she was still breathing. Her absence will create a significant void in my life.”
The record for the oldest cat ever remains with Creme Puff from Austin, Texas, who lived to 38 years and 3 days.
